Denys Dudko is a one of the best musicians in Ukraine, composer, jazz double bass player, founder and frontman of Maru band and one of the key members of the legendary Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy.
DENYS DUDKO at first turn is a double bass player and composer. Jazz fans have been following him since the middle 90th when he played in the legendary band Skhid-Side and non-jazz fans – from the middle of 00’s when he became the bass player of the most popular rock band Okean Elzy. He performed on a huge amount of stages with bass guitar to headline stadiums and with acoustic double bass playing his music in much more intimate rooms since then.
Denys has always composed his own music during his long musical career. As a composer has released 2 albums of jazz music – Sofia and Little Flower. He gathered best Ukrainian jazz players in his jazz band – Dennis Adu (trumpet), Dmytro Alexandrov (alt saxophone), Grigory Parshyn (tenor sax), Olexandr Charkin (trombone). DD always loved French jazz scene. He also invited young Parisian drummer Tiss Rodrigues to participate in his sextet.
Their music is deep, sometimes multi-layered, full of hypnotic colors and sounds. Each musician is gifted with a musical instinct and masterly performance. Listening to such music we comprehend spirituality and we realize that the whole Universe is one composition, each individual in it is one note, and his happiness is to adjust the chords in the pulse of his heart, in his vibration, rhythm and tone, to the harmony of the whole Universe.
