Bandura style project SHPYLIASTI KOBZARI is an ensemble comprising six quaint and cheerful bandurists who play cover-versions of world-known hits and Ukrainian folk songs in a contemporary way in the style of mash-up music.
Bandura Style Project is created for promoting the brand of this extraordinary Ukrainian plucked string instrument - bandura.
The band is the headliner of many art events and national celebrations, take a part in a lot of festivals and large-scale television shows. During their activity bandurists have performed in Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Latvia, Denmark, Finland, Iran, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, China.and etc.
Their founder Yaroslav Dzhus is a musician-bandurist, composer, music arranger, DJ, winner of a number of international and national Ukrainian competitions, member of the National Union of Kobzars of Ukraine. He created more than 50 original adaptations of the Ukrainian folk songs for bandura, composed approximately 200 original music pieces for bandura and piano, 300 bandura covers for the songs of the world music charts, recorded promo-audio CD-album “Bandura Style” with the music experiments on bandura: pop, rock, electronic music, jazz standards and improvisations, lounge etc.
